playARK offer: 10 tickets for £10 each

September 13, 2011

playARK

The Cardiff weekend-long games festival playARK kicks off on Friday 30th September with a day of talks around game-playing and how it can be used for creative learning, storytelling and social good:

From an early age, play and games are hugely important to our development as people; it is the fundamental mechanism that allows us to learn and understand complex issues and social interactions. Games can bring people together and open new and unique channels of interaction. So why do we stop ‘playing’ in our adult years? Could games be the key to our future development; produce closer connections with our communities, create a more engaging education system and provide a new direction for business?

Speakers include Matt Locke (founder of Storythings and The Story event), David Sharp, writer and comedian Mark Stevenson and MakeLab founder Alice Taylor. Well worth the £30 ticket price, I think you’ll agree.

However, if you’re looking to make a weekend of creative exploration, play and storytelling, with playARK fun on Friday followed by StoryCamp escapades on Saturday then you can get your playARK ticket at the concessionary rate of just £15. And if ten or more people come forward to take playARK up on their very kind offer, the ticket price falls even further to just £10 a ticket.

If you fancy the playARK and StoryCamp double whammy then simply comment on this post or put a shout out on the StoryCamp Posterous group, making sure you’ve gotten yourself a StoryCamp ticket first, which is free! I’ll send you the relevant contact details.
